The Twelve Access Protocols

The National Academy: NDA & NA

The premier Class XII → Armed Forces officer pathway. A unified entry point leading to distinct service academies.

National Defence Academy (NDA) Pathways into the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Naval Academy (NA) Directly into Indian Naval Academy frameworks.

THE NDA JOURNEY

Written (UPSC) → SSB Interview → Medical Examination → Final Merit → Academy Training → Commission. The academic degree is obtained during training, but the fundamental destination is military command.

The Officer Corps: CDS

Combined Defence Services. The major Graduation → Armed Forces officer route. It is conceptually and functionally different from NDA.

IMA / INA / AFA Permanent commission routes into the Army, Navy, and Air Force Academies.

OTA (Officers' Training Academy) Short Service Commission pathway for specified entries.

The Air Wing: AFCAT

Flying Branch Ground Duty (Technical / Non-Tech) Air Force Common Admission Test. Graduate entry into aeronautical engineering, weapon systems, logistics, and flying. Includes NCC Special Entry routes.

The Land Forces

Army Officer Entries A vast matrix beyond NDA/CDS: TES, Technical Graduate Course (TGC), SSC Tech, NCC, and JAG entry.

The Naval Gate
