The World At War
Industrial Warfare, Ideology & The Collapse of the Old Order
The Conceptual Chain
The immense productive capacity generated by the Industrial Revolution was fused with the exclusionary logic of Nationalism and the competitive drive of Imperialism. The result was two interconnected global conflicts that consumed entire societies. Total War demanded not just armies, but the mobilization of factories, farms, and minds. The resulting devastation shattered the European empires, birthed radical ideological states (Soviet Communism, Fascism, Nazism), culminated in industrialised genocide and atomic weaponry, and fundamentally rewired the global order.
