CRITICAL DISTINCTION: ELIGIBILITY ≠ APPOINTMENT.
CTET / State TET establish eligibility to be appointed as a school teacher. UGC-NET establishes eligibility for JRF, Assistant Professor, or PhD admission. Qualifying these national exams does not automatically confer a job; candidates must separately pass institutional recruitment.

CTET (Central TET) Conducted by CBSE. Eligibility for Classes I–VIII in central and participating school systems.

JRF & Assistant Professor Junior Research Fellowship + Eligibility for academic posting.

PhD Eligibility Qualifying category specifically for PhD admissions without JRF.
